Mac用户使用Postgres的正确答案。应用程序是根据该包提供的libpq构建的。例如，对于9.4版本(撰写本文时的最新版本)，您所需要的是:

export CONFIGURE_ARGS="with-pg-include=/Applications/Postgres.app/Contents/Versions/9.4/include"
gem install pg

这将使你的pg gem与你安装的PostgreSQL版本保持同步。在这种情况下，安装Homebrew软件是一种浪费。

步骤1)确保在您的系统中安装了postgress(如果它已经安装并且您可以在您的机器上运行postgress服务器，则移动到步骤(2)

apt-get install postgresql postgresql-contrib (sol - fatal error: libpq-fe.h: No such file or directory)
sudo apt-get install ruby-dev (required to install postgress below)
sudo gem install pg

步骤2)一些c++文件试图直接访问libpq-fe.h，但无法找到。所以我们需要手动搜索每一个这样的文件，并将libpq-fe.h替换为postgresql/libpq-fe.h

在所有目录和子目录中搜索libpq-fe.h的命令是grep -rnw ./ -e 'libpq-fe.h'

3)进入“All file listed by command run in step 2”，使用postgresql/libpq-fe.h手动修改libpq-fe.h。
